The History of ArtzyBella
Est. 2012
In 2011, after finishing my undergrad degree from Georgia State in Art Administration, while exploring graduate school options, I discovered Child Art Therapy. I pursued Child Development but decided to start the long term process of a career as an art therapist by establishing my own identity as a visual artist per the recommendation of experts in the field.
This led me to create ArtzyBella, which started as a sole proprietership where I was using my gift of creating to make handmade art and designs for people I knew. I did this on and off through grad school, while working in the mental health field full-time, and upon taking my big jump into entrepreneurship by quitting my 9-5 in 2016
The functional art service is now Ro&Be Co.
We create handcrafted functional art and design for interior, exterior, and digital spaces.
In 2017, I found my first art studio inside of an old church in historic West End Atlanta. While throwing paint parties in this studio, I was also doing murals inside homes and schools, and still some random handcrafting projects for preferred customers.
After a year, I outgrew the space and found the studio we reside in today at 2621 Church Street in East Point, GA.
ArtzyBella studio opened in July 2019
The existing studio is located in historic downtown East Point, GA.
I spent the first year defining what ArtzyBella's products and services were, testing out what our customers liked doing with us, and learning more about how to grow and scale a company.
In 2019 I participated in Georgia State University 's small business cohort: Main Street Seed Fund
ArtzyBella pitched & won 1st place in 2020
ArtzyBella participated with 20 other small businesses in Atlanta.
The Bella Box + Virtual Parties
Our pivot during the pandemic helped us stay open. We began understanding the value that people were finding with our unique approach to teaching art.
Today, ArtzyBella is a members ony art studio introducing people to its unique art classes and activities inspired by the clinical science of art therapy in person and online. We now offer pottery on the wheel, jewelry making, canle making, and tons more types of activities.
